Read how Chifley has successfully implemented training programs for various organisations within the mining, energy, transport and communications industries, as well as government departments at both state and federal level.
Chifley Business School has worked hand-in-hand with the City of Swan—the largest local authority in Metropolitan Perth, to deliver the Diploma of Project Management in-house.
Charlotte England, Corporate Relations Manager for Chifley was responsible for the implementation of the program. Working closely with Tony Holmes—the program facilitator and Margaret Collins, Training and Development Coordinator from the City of Swan, the program was customised and tailored to meet and reflect organisational goals.
Margaret Collins asserted that the skills acquired have reflected and translated very quickly back into their working environment. "The program has provided a platform for our employees to validate existing skills and build new competencies, which have enabled them to contribute strategically", commented Margaret.
The program was centred on combined learning practices from interactive learning to case studies and workplace-based projects, which contributed to a very involved and motivating learning environment, resulting in a high level of completion.
On 13 July 2006, 13 proud City of Swan employees graduated with the Diploma of Project Management, completing 7 modules over 9 months.
City of Swan will be undertaking the Diploma of Project Management for 15 more employees beginning November 2006.
